Dreaming on the Page

Dreaming on the Page is a therapeutic writing process that helps people better understand themselves and their lives through dreams. Used one-on-one or in groups, this method involves a regular writing and dream work practice, which combine to offer fresh insights and creative ways to change old patterns and breathe new life into out-dated stories.
Dreaming on the Page employs the Proprioceptive Writing (PW) technique developed by Dr. Linda Trichter Metcalf and Dr. Tobin Simon. PW is a ritualized 25-minute writing practice. PW enhances emotional health, spiritual awakening and creative breakthroughs. PW can be learned quickly and developed over a lifetime. Applied to dreams, this practice helps you to understand the often-mysterious stories and symbols of your dreams in relation to your waking life.
Who can benefit from it?
Businesses, Individuals, schools and Universities
What are the benefits?
In Dreaming on the Page work we adopt an open, receptive posture toward dreams. We integrate the information and wisdom from our dreaming minds so we can access its insights and creative powers when we are awake. In addition to learning a simple yet profound approach to dream work, Proprioceptive Writing will teach you more about who you are, where you are headed and what is standing in the way of reaching your full potential. You will develop increased confidence in your intuition and greater access to your innate creativity. Perhaps most significant of all: You will have the opportunity to develop a dream work practice that can continue to guide and inform you throughout your life.
How do you do it?
First we record the dream in writing, creating a simple dream report. Then we practice an easy but profound writing technique called “Proprioceptive Writing” to explore the dream more fully. Proprioceptive Writing (PW) is a method for facilitating emotional health, spiritual awakening and creative breakthroughs through writing and deep inward listening. The process can be learned quickly and developed over a lifetime. Used in conjunction with dream work, this writing technique helps us know the dream more deeply and understand its relation to our waking lives.

“I did a Proprioceptive Writing session with Tzivia on an image I had in a dream. Tzivia noticed how the words I chose to write about my thoughts and feelings were connected to the dream image itself. This was both interesting and very helpful. … I love PW because it helps me understand what I’m thinking on a deep level, and hearing my thoughts about a dream or dream image has been interesting and fun.”
